The White Lion Hotel is a traditional and privately owned hotel overlooking Aldeburgh's shingle beach. Its 38 bedrooms are cosy and inviting, some with sea views as far as the eye can see.
Set in a romantic seaside location, The White Lion Hotel offers a great alternative to conventional wedding and reception venues and is licensed to hold civil ceremonies and partnerships.
You may wish to give your wedding a seaside theme, or simply opt for something traditional; the choice is yours. The white Lion offer a selection of menus and dishes, all of which are individually priced, allowing you the flexibility to create a bespoke menu and package to suit your personal requirements.
The James Cable Room is licensed to hold civil ceremonies for up to 80 guests. The local registrar is based at Deben Registry Office in Woodbridge and can be contacted on 01394 387876. The cost of hiring the room for your wedding celebration is £500, which includes private use of the Bar.
We specialise in catering for smaller receptions from 8 to 80 guests. However, if you are planning evening entertainment, and wish to invite additional guests, we can accommodate up to 120 guests in the inter-linked James Cable Room and Bar. Head Chef, Patrick Neal, creates delicious menus inspired by the wealth of fantastic fresh Suffolk produce so readily available.
